For those of you who have read some of these posts you are probably thinking that I have slightly digressed from the topic of cooking and you would be completely correct.
Let me take this opportunity to tell you what Cook like Mum did is about...
The message behind Cook like Mum did is to promote good home cooked food with products that are locally sourced and sustainable.
Imagine it's 1941...You pop down the local shop with your ration book to pick up your weekly groceries...You might even have a little veg patch in the garden...The point is you would have to be creative and careful how you used the limited resources you had. I know that fortunately now this isn't something we have to worry about but the principal is still valid. Say goodbye to packaged microwave meals and Hello to simple honest food...soon enough the folks will be coming to you for a Sunday Roast.
